Summer Camp for Kids with Food Allergies

5 May

Food Allergy Awareness Week takes place May 8th-14th this year.  Many parents never have to worry about what their children are eating, but for parents of children who have severe food allergies, sending them off to school, to birthday parties, or friend’s houses can be agonizing, and forget about summer camp….

Until now!  Children’s Medical Center (Children’s Food Allergy Center) is sponsoring an overnight summer camp for children with special dietary needs!  The camp is designated for children ages 7-15 with food allergies.  The camp will take place August 8-11th at Camp Sweeney near Gainesville, TX.  http://www.campsweeney.org/

Some of the activities include: challenge course, flag football, mini golf, paintball, roller hockey, skate boarding, sand volleyball, swimming, arts & crafts, fishing, photography, and arcade night!

The camp costs $75, which includes all meals and activities.  Applications can be downloaded and submitted online.  Application and payment are due May 16th.  So reserve your spot now!
